The short version
- You can use every practice test and study page without an account and without giving us anything.
- If you study without an account, your progress never leaves your device.
- An account is optional. It exists so your progress follows you to another device.
- There is no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking anywhere on this site or in the app.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the website classeknowledgeexam.com and to the Class E Prep app at app.classeknowledgeexam.com, including the version installed from an app store. Both are the same service and share one account system.
classeknowledgeexam.com is a privately operated, free educational resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles or any government agency.
What we collect
If you do not create an account
Your study progress - which questions you answered, which you got wrong, your exam scores and your document checklist - is stored only in your own browser or device, in local storage. It is not sent to us and we cannot see it.
You can erase it at any time with Reset all progress on the Progress screen, or by clearing site data in your browser. Uninstalling the app also removes it.
If you create an account
Your name as you typed it, your email address, and a password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash - we cannot read it and cannot recover it for you.
Your interface language, so the app opens in the language you chose.
Your study progress, mirrored from your device: how many questions you have answered and how many were correct, your score per topic, the identifiers of questions you answered incorrectly, and the date and score of each full exam you finished.
We do not ask for your real name, your date of birth, your address, your phone number, or any government identifier. Please do not send us those.
Collected automatically
Like every web server, ours records each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the service running and to investigate abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not combined with your account.
Cookies
We use three, all strictly functional:
- a session cookie, which keeps you signed in;
- a security token that protects forms from cross-site request forgery;
- a small cookie remembering your chosen interface language.
There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party cookies. Nothing here follows you to other websites.
What we do not do
- We do not run advertising and we host no ad networks.
- We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or heat-mapping tool.
- We do not embed third-party trackers, pixels, or social media widgets.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
- The app requests no device permissions: no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no files.
The contact form
The contact form on our contact page is not currently connected to a mailbox: submissions are validated and then discarded, and nothing is stored. To actually reach us, email info@classeknowledgeexam.com.
Where your data is stored, and for how long
Account data is held in a database on a dedicated server we rent from a commercial hosting provider. The server is located in the United States (Chicago, Illinois). If you are outside the United States, using the service means your data is transferred there.
The connection is encrypted with HTTPS on every page.
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Server request logs are rotated and kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data held in your account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely.
To delete your account and everything attached to it, email info@classeknowledgeexam.com from the address you registered with, with the subject Delete my account. We will delete the account, your saved exam results and your synced progress within 30 days and confirm by email.
Progress kept only on your own device is not something we can reach; clear it yourself with Reset all progress, by clearing site data, or by uninstalling the app.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. Write to us and we will honour them.
Children
This service is aimed at people preparing for a Florida learner's permit, which means most users are 15 or older. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Third parties
Our hosting provider necessarily processes traffic on our behalf in order to run the server.
The site is verified in Google Search Console, which tells us how our pages appear in Google search results. It reports aggregate search data to us and does not identify individual visitors.
Links to official sources such as the FLHSMV, county Tax Collector offices and Google Maps open on their sites, which have their own privacy policies. We have no control over them.
If you installed the app from an app store, that store applies its own privacy policy to your download and any account you hold with it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
